Freshwater Fishing E-Licence
A
Message from the Minister
E-Licensing Begins - On September 6, 2007,
the B.C. Government launched a new e-licensing
service to make it easier than ever for anglers
to purchase recreational fishing licences.
This service is now available at www.fishing.gov.bc.ca.
We are inviting anglers to give the new system
a try.
Last year, I committed to establishing a modern,
user-friendly system for selling British Columbia
freshwater fishing licences. It was time to replace
the traditional paper-based system that has served
us well for many years.
E-licensing will give anglers a wider variety
of choices about how, where and when they purchase
fishing licences and conservation stamps. The
purchase of licences can now be done online from
a home computer any day, any time. Anglers will
no longer have to delay that special fishing trip
while searching for a vendor who is open early
in the morning or on a long weekend.
Vendors will still play an important role. In
the coming months, anglers who are not comfortable
making their purchases online, can either buy
their licences from an e-licence-equipped vendor,
or continue to purchase paper licences if they
prefer. Again, we are giving you more choices
about how, where and when you buy your licence.
So please take this opportunity to visit our website: www.fishing.gov.bc.ca.
Let us know how you like
it, and what improvements we could make.
Thanks for your time and good fishing!
